PostDoc in the Field of Bioanalysis for Gene Therapies (f/m/d)


Our team is seeking a talented postdoc enthusiastic with a transition to the scientific field of bioanalysis of new modalities. The candidate should be curious about how cutting-edge molecular biology techniques can directly impact drug development, through pharmacokinetic assessments. The successful candidate will work hands-on in a vibrant scientific environment, at the Bayer Research and Development Center Wuppertal, on fixed-term contract for 2 years.


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop bioanalytical assays (i.e, pharmacokinetic and immunogenicity assessments) for new modalities to support preclinical and clinical projects.
  • Compare and optimize different bioanalytical approaches for nucleic acid analysis and identify suitable strategies for complex modalities.
  • Implement new technologies to address bioanalytical challenges with innovative assays. Facilitate the use of automated lab solutions.
  • Efficiently plan and organize bioanalytical tasks to assure the timely delivery of high-quality data.
  • Present results in project and scientific teams

WHO YOU ARE


  • Recently completed a PhD in a biochemistry discipline, preferably in an emerging therapeutic modality: e.g., mRNA-LNPs, peptides, biologics, oligonucleotides (ASO/siRNA), CRISPR editing, AAVs, CAR-T.
  • Experience with RNA technologies and one of the following methods: ddPCR, Quantigene, single-cell transcriptomics, barcoding, droplet-based microfluidics. Additional knowledge in Ligand Binding Assays (ELISA/MSD/Octet/Gyrolab) and animal tissue handling would be advantageous.
  • Successfully established novel methods and techniques in the past.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and simplify intricate tasks.
  • Eagerness to transition to pharmacokinetics and bioanalysis of new modalities.
  • Strong team player proactively communicating results to both experts and non-experts.
  • Experience in training lab members on new techniques.
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken and advanced knowledge in German.
