The Digital Aviation Solutions Market & Competitive Analysis team within Boeing Global Services is seeking an experienced Market & Competitive Intelligence Specialist (f/m/d) to join their team in Neu Isenburg, DE or Crawley, UK. This position provides the ideal candidate an opportunity to shape our strategic direction through insights derived from both macro and micro analyses of the global aviation industry.

This position evaluates business opportunities to define, optimize, and disrupt our business portfolio through analysis and understanding of targeted markets, market/industry trends, new technologies, customer business issues and the competitive environment. This candidate also applies broad knowledge of company core capabilities and service offerings with in-depth analysis of market segmentation to identify gaps, as well as areas of growth and expansion, and uses technical expertise and extensive industry experience to quantify market assessments, formulate market strategies and identify new product/solution opportunities. Additional responsibilities include compilation and maintenance of current or emerging company and/or competitor profiles.


Position Responsibilities:

    Uses financial, technical and market foresight to quantify the value of targeted opportunities in the marketplace, estimation of key business indicators, and quantification of market size and segments for decision making. Develops methodologies to collect and understand competition pricing intelligence and develops company/competitor profiles and assessments
  • Takes advantage of customer and industry events and publications to seek out customer needs, industry and technology trends and translates those to useful recommendations for leadership strategy and decision support
  • Supports identification, quantification and modeling of new business/growth opportunities for Boeing. Devises strategic and opposing scenarios and formulates recommendations for market entry (M&A, partnering, etc.)
  • Supports communication and alignment efforts across internal groups, such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Management, Strategy and other internal customers, during research of sought openings. Supports efforts to communicate strategy issues and align key partners and leadership team.
  • Devises frameworks and communication methods to drive leadership team engagement. Helps identify internal clashes in objectives, strategies, analysis methods, and inter-organizational challenges. When needed, uses innovative methods, analyses, outside help and cross-functional studies to drive alignment with leaders.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 9+ years aviation domain knowledge required (e.g. Commercial Airline experience), ideally in Military Aviation Flight Operations
  • More than 5 years experience in data analysis and/or forecasting
  • Experience working with large data sets required (e.g. proficient in Excel, Power Pivot, Tableau and/or Microsoft Power BI)
  • Fluent written and verbal English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience with US and/or international government contracting processes
  • High executive presence with excellent visualization and interpersonal skills
  • Experience conducting primary market assessments and competitor research
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, multifaceted, global, self-managed team environment

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).
